What is an individual meter?

#Individual meters
When a consumption of water, electricity or other services is common to the whole building, it is necessary to find a way of separating individual consumption, so as not to have to pay for what is consumed by the neighbour.
Individual meters are meters installed on these common pipes, “in front” of each unit. This makes it possible to know the consumption (of water, electricity, etc.) of each unit individually.
When the supplier sends a single invoice to the whole co-ownership, the syndic proceeds to the reading of the individual meters and can thereby split this invoice according to the individual consumption of each unit.
